1. The story behind the cocktail
The discoverer of this delicious, special cocktail is called Dick Bradsell and he invented this drink in London around the eighties. The story was actually pretty simple. According to the story, one evening a model sat at his counter and asked for a cocktail with the following words:
“I want something to wake me up and f*** me up!”
After a moment's consideration, Bradsell mixed espresso and vodka together with a caramel coffee liqueur over ice in a shaker and served the lady this drink in a pre-chilled martini glass. She really liked the cocktail, so Bradsell immediately put it on the menu.
The ingredients haven't changed much to this day.
2. You need these items
Here, too, you can choose the contents of our cocktail box.
-
Martini glasses
Even if the cocktail has nothing to do with the actual martini, the tradition of the cocktail reserves the right to still use a martini glass. Let's be honest - the espresso martini looks absolutely delicious in the martini glass! We use high-quality Leonardo martini glasses in our cocktail box.
-
a cocktail shaker
You need this to serve the cocktail chilled. Since the Baileys Espresso Martini is served without ice, the cocktail shaker is ideal for cooling down the Baileys Espresso Martini.
-
a bar measure with 15 ml / 30 ml measurement
In order to measure the liquids correctly, a bar measure is required to adhere to the specifications.
3. You need these ingredients
The amount of ingredients are intended for a cocktail!
- 40 ml coffee liqueur - We use Cossack coffee
- 50 ml Vodka - We use Smirnoff
- A pair of full-bodied espresso beans
- if you like it sweet: 15 ml Monin of your choice*
- a freshly brewed espresso or a comparable hot drink
*As Monin we use varieties such as:
- caramel
- Macadamia nut
- hazelnut
- Vanilla
- Chocolate biscuit
- White chocolate
But the Espresso Martini tastes great even without any additional flavor! The selected coffee liqueur already contains delicious caramel flavors.
